If You Are So Passionate About The Tribal Identity Of Political Appointees, Enter Into The Office Of Your Tribesmen — Shehu Sani Reacts To Tinubu Political Appointees List.

Shehu Sani Reacts to Tinubu’s Political Appointees List

Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has weighed in on the growing debate surrounding the list of political appointees released by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

LeadNaija learnt that the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare, had earlier shared a breakdown of the appointments, stating that out of 134 individuals appointed to federal positions, 71 were from the North while 63 were from the South.

The list, which has been widely circulated online, has drawn criticism from various quarters over the dominance of Yorubas and Northerners.

Reacting to the controversy on Thursday, Senator Sani posted through his verified social media page, X. Said:

“A list is shared online with the names of political appointees and their tribes. The Yorubas and the Northerners dominate the list. If you are so passionate about the tribal identity of political appointees, please quickly enter into the office of your tribesmen in office and get a job or contract.”

His remarks appear to criticize the emphasis on ethnic identity in the distribution of political appointments, urging Nigerians to focus on opportunities rather than tribal representation.

The statement has sparked mixed reactions online, further fueling the national conversation on inclusivity and fairness in political appointments.
