Ilesa Prison Break: Escapee Offers to Surrender If FG Gives N5 Million Bounty to His Mother

One of the escapees from the recent Ilesa prison break, Tobi Akin, has taken to social media to make a startling offer to the Federal Government: pay the N5 million bounty placed on his head to his mother, and he will voluntarily surrender.

Akin, 19, from Osun State, made the statement via his official X (formerly Twitter) account, saying:
You put me for prison because I cashout $20 and you dey use 5 million find me. Give my mama the money, I go turn myself in.”

The Federal Government had earlier announced a N5 million reward for any individual who provides credible information leading to the re-arrest of any of the inmates who escaped during the recent jailbreak in Ilesa.

Tobi Akin, reportedly jailed for a cybercrime-related offense, is among several individuals still at large following the prison breach. The list of other wanted escapees includes:

1. Ninalowo Yusuf, 28

2. John Michael, 35

3. Olalekan Ajofoyinbo, 45

4. Mathew Ogunjimi, 28

5. Eze Nweze, 40

6. Kabiru Oyedun, 39

Authorities have urged members of the public to assist in locating the fugitives but warned against obstructing justice. The Nigerian Correctional Service and security agencies are continuing joint efforts to re-arrest the escapees.
