Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has announced his intention to contest in Nigeria’s 2027 presidential election.

Speaking on his behalf at an event in Lagos on Saturday, Professor Ola Olateju of Achievers University, Ondo, emphasized that Abubakar’s ambition is not driven by desperation.

Olateju made the remarks while representing Abubakar at a ceremony welcoming new members who had defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

“Atiku Abubakar’s plan is to build a better Nigeria. It’s not about him being president. It’s about having a good government that can deliver for Nigerians.
