Immigration Officer Found Dead in Calabar, Police Begin Investigation

The Police Command in Cross River has commenced investigation into the sudden and unnatural death of a 30-year-old Immigration officer in Calabar.

Sources said that one Joy Benson of Holland Street, Calabar, informed the police that his younger brother, Wofai Benson Akpama, was found dead in his room at No. 34 Mbora Street.

Detectives were immediately detailed to the scene where the remains were observed.

Police sources said no visible marks of violence were discovered on the body and no foul play was initially suspected.

The corpse was subsequently evacuated to the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH) for preservation and autopsy.

The command said investigation had commenced and further developments would be communicated as findings emerge.
