The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has advanced eight of the fourteen newly formed political associations seeking official registration as political parties in Nigeria.
The eight successful groups include:
1. All Democratic Alliance (ADA)
2. Citizens Democratic Alliance (CDA)
3. Abundance Social Party (ASP)
4. African Alliance Party (AAP)
5. Democratic Leadership Alliance (DLA)
6. Green Future Party (GFP)
7. National Democratic Party (NDP)
8. Peoples Freedom Party (PFP)
According to INEC, the next phase of the registration process will involve a comprehensive review and verification of the documents and information submitted by each association.
This vetting process, the Commission stated, is essential to ensure full compliance with the provisions of the amended 1999 Constitution, the Electoral Act 2022, and INEC’s 2022 Regulations and Guidelines for Political Parties.
If successful, the parties will join Nigeria’s growing list of registered political organizations ahead of future elections.
