The nominee for Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Joash Amupitan, has expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Council of State for his nomination.
Speaking during his ongoing screening at the Senate on Friday, Prof. Amupitan described the appointment as a call to national service and pledged to justify the confidence reposed in him.
“I want to thank the President (Tinubu) of the Federal Republic as well as the Council of State for nominating me for this very important task of service to the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” he stated while presenting his credentials to the lawmakers.
The screening continues before the Senate Committee on INEC.
