INEC: Over 6.2 Million Nigerians Pre-Register for PVCs in Six Weeks

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that more than 6.2 million Nigerians have pre-registered online for their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) within six weeks of opening the registration portal.

According to the latest figures, Borno State leads with 682,805 registrants, followed by Osun (599,363) and Lagos (555,442). Other states with high numbers include Kebbi (472,662), Ogun (450,897), and Kaduna (376,054).

At the bottom of the table are Enugu (5,092), Abia (5,225), and Ebonyi (6,935).

The breakdown by state shows significant regional variations, with the North-East and North-West recording the highest pre-registration numbers, while most South-East states trail far behind.

INEC put the total number of pre-registered applicants at 6,232,673.

The Commission said the data reflects strong enthusiasm among Nigerians to participate in the electoral process ahead of the next general elections.
