The Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has disclosed that inflation in Nigeria is dropping, and the economy is stabilising under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The Chairman of the Forum and governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma, stated this while reading out the communiqué issued by the Forum after its two-day meeting in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State.
He noted that the Forum was satisfied with the measures adopted by President Tinubu in handling the economy of the nation, stressing that it has started yielding good results and instilled federalism, inclusiveness across the 8,809 INEC wards in the country.
According to him: “The Forum undertook comprehensive appraisal of the political, security and economic development of the nation, and members of our forum expressed satisfaction with the advancement of our federalism, evidence of understanding and engagement between the federal and the state government. There are viable projects, food security, power sector, infrastructure mobilisation and social interventions.
“The Forum congratulated Mr President on the measurable successes being recorded in the economy and the national security. Our economy is stable and growing, inflation is on the decline, interest rates are on downward trajectory, forex market is improving and appreciating, and allocations accrue to all tiers of governments are increasing, all due to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“Furthermore, the Progressive Governors Forum also commended Mr President for leading the National Economy Council to put in place the Renewed Hope Agenda programme, designed to provide the opportunity for all Nigerians across the 8,809 INEC wards to do better.
“The Forum noted with satisfaction the collaborative structure of the programme involving the FG, which has spread to LGs, as a model of cooperative federalism in inclusive development. This is a great moment in our history as all the 8,809 wards have assured us of their supports.”
Uzodimma also extended condolences to family of the victims of insecurity in the country, and assured the citizens that the President Tinubu would continue to provide security for all citizens.
While speaking during the interaction session with the APC stakeholders in the state, Governor Nasir Idris told the Forum that there was no problem among the party members, and they are all supporting President Tinubu’s agenda and programmes.
