Insecurity: Interior Minister Affirms Nigeria’s Preparedness To Confronts Challenges

The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, says Nigeria is prepared to confront emerging security challenges.

This follows his unscheduled visit to the FCT Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and the Federal Fire Service station in Wuse, Abuja.

During the visit, the Minister said President Bola Tinubu has given a clear directive to ensure all agencies under the ministry are positioned for effective service delivery.

He expressed satisfaction with the ongoing construction of the NSCDC FCT training ground, describing continuous training and capacity building as central to tackling insecurity.

Tunji-Ojo, however, expressed displeasure over the state of the Federal Fire Service station in Wuse and said issues identified during the assessment will be addressed by the Service’s leadership.

He reaffirmed government’s support for paramilitary agencies and urged personnel to discharge their duties professionally and with respect for citizens’ rights.

The Minister added that such unannounced assessments would continue across the country to ensure Nigerians receive only the best quality of service.
