Sayyid Hashem al-Haidari, former senior political and cultural leader of the Popular Mobilization Forces and Secretary-General of Iraq’s Al-Ahd Movement—often referred to as the “Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah of Iraq”—issued a fatwa calling for jihad (holy war) against America and Israel and their allies:

“We must fulfill our historical religious responsibility.
America and Israel, in collaboration with the West, openly and through blatant aggression, assassinated one of the supreme religious authorities in the Islamic world.

We cannot remain silent about this crime. Taking revenge is for the religion of God; it is a very important religious, doctrinal, ethical, and human matter.

This issue is not about homeland, language, party, sect, clan, or bigotry. Rather, it is about Islam, religion, and creed—the rights of God Almighty.

It is shameful for the rulers of Islamic nations to remain neutral and watch the attacks on Iran, while the other side cooperates extensively.”

The war is already here. Iraq has become an active battleground, with over 20 Iran-backed PMF fighters killed in recent Epstein Coalition airstrikes across Diyala, Anbar, and Babil.

Factions have retaliated with drones and rockets targeting US bases near Erbil and Baghdad.

The context for this fatwa is the existential threat posed by the newly formed “Coalition of Political Forces of Iranian Kurdistan,” a unified front of five Kurdish parties (PDKI, PAK, PJAK, Komala, Khabat) armed and backed by the CIA and Israel, preparing to invade western Iran (Rojhelat) and “liberate” territory from inside Iraq .

With Trump and Netanyahu actively coordinating with these groups, Haidari’s jihad call is a direct mobilization to stop a US-backed Kurdish ground offensive aimed at dismantling the Islamic Republic from within.
