Popular cleric Apostle Suleiman has sparked reactions online after delivering a hard-hitting message on leadership, suffering, and empathy in Nigeria.

Speaking during a sermon, Suleiman didn’t mince words as he criticized the impact of poor leadership on citizens’ lives.

According to him, prayer alone cannot fix the consequences of bad governance. “It’s a waste praying when you have elected a bad person,” he said. “The only prayer you will now pray is the grace to survive the suffering.”

He also called out what he described as insensitivity from those in power, especially during moments of tragedy. “The height of insensitivity is when people are mourning and you are sending media to do damage control,” he stated.

Lamenting the current state of the nation, Suleiman noted that hardship and loss have become disturbingly common. “This is one of the most terrible times to be a Nigerian because evil is becoming regular. D+ath is becoming normal,” he said.

Reflecting on the past, he added, “Growing up, when a person d+es in a street, for one month we are talking about it—but now it’s a normal thing.” The cleric ended with a strong message on empathy, urging leaders to be more sensitive to the pain of citizens. “When people are grieving, tell your media men to keep quiet. It is lack of empathy.”full, details. .
