The Spaniard was dismissed for a flying tackle on Mbeumo who was clear on goal.

But Maresca believes that his team stood a better chance if they had 11 men for the rest of the game at Old Trafford.

“It was better to let Mbeumo score than getting the red card,” Maresca said.
