Mac Allister’s performances this season have been pivotal, helping Liverpool climb to the top of the Premier League table. His contributions include scoring his second Champions League goal in Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Real Madrid at Anfield last month.
Despite his strong form at Liverpool, Mac Allister admitted in an interview with AS that he could see himself in La Liga one day. “Yes, why not?” he said. “It’s a country I like a lot. The language and culture are very similar to Argentina. I’d definitely like to play in Spain at some point.”
However, he emphasized his commitment to Liverpool, adding: “Right now, I’m very comfortable at Liverpool, and I don’t think about what might happen in the future.”
Last summer, Real Madrid reportedly considered Mac Allister as a replacement for Toni Kroos, who was set to retire. At the time, Mac Allister made it clear he wasn’t seeking a move. “I’m very happy at Liverpool,” he told TYC SPORTS in June, dismissing the transfer rumors.
Mac Allister also revealed his conversations with Jurgen Klopp, who expressed confidence in his growth at Liverpool. “Klopp told me I’m in the right club to grow. When he left, he hugged me and said it was a pity we didn’t have more time together. I’m happy and very comfortable at Liverpool.”
While Mac Allister’s immediate future seems secure, Liverpool faces challenges in retaining other key players. Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, and Trent Alexander-Arnold are all nearing the end of their contracts this season. Recent reports suggest Liverpool has offered new deals to the trio, but negotiations remain ongoing without immediate resolutions.
