The Jigawa State House of Assembly has passed the 2025 Appropriation Bill of N698.3 billion and N184.4 billion for the 27 local government councils of the state.

Presenting the budget reports on the floor of the House, the Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation, Hon. Hamza Ibrahim, said the initial amount of the budget of N698.3 billion submitted by the Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, remains unchanged.

The Chairman said the budget reports presented contained over 62 recommendations, which the lawmakers unanimously adopted.

Hon. Ibrahim Hamza (APC-Malam Madori) said the budget was made up of N90,730,520,000 for personnel costs, N70,171,960,000 for other recurrent expenditure, and N537,397,000,520 for capital development programmes.

He said the committee made seven recommendations on the local government councils’ budget, including a provision for 17 per cent pension contributions from local governments, primary healthcare, and the State Universal Basic Education Board.Tap Here for the Full Story

The Speaker, Mr Haruna Aliyu, said the Appropriation Bill, if assented to by the Governor, would enable the government to execute people-oriented projects for the overall development of the state.

Online Tribune recalled that Gov. Umar Namadi had on Dec. 9 presented a budget of N698.3 billion and N184.4 billion to the Assembly for consideration.
