JUST-IN: 12 Nigerians Nabbed In Ghana Over Cybercrime And Human Trafficking

Twelve Nigerian nationals were arrested in Ghana for suspected involvement in organized cybercrime and human trafficking. The operation was a joint effort by the IGP’s Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team, the CID Surveillance Unit, and the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS).

The raid took place on Thursday, March 12, 2026, led by DSP Malaika Jibril Alhassan and Superintendent Francis Baidoo. During the operation, officers recovered twenty-five laptops and seven mobile phones used for cybercrime.

The suspects attempted to resist by releasing German Shepherd dogs, but reinforcements ensured the operation succeeded.

Investigations show the suspects engaged in internet fraud, identity thieft, email and phishing scams, mobile money fraud, cyber extortion, credit card and ATM fraud, and electronic forgery.

These crimes violate Ghanaian laws including the Cybersecurity Act 2020, Electronic Transactions Act 2008, Criminal Offences Act 1960, Data Protection Act 2012, and GIS Regulations.Get The Full, Details. .
