Bandit attack thwarted in Kebbi, 96 cows and 45 sheep recovered
According to him, “Personnel of No. 36 PMF Squadron, Birnin Kebbi, have recorded another significant breakthrough in their sustained efforts to rid Kebbi State of banditry, kidnapping and other violent crimes.
“On 29 November 2025, at about 07:30 hrs, armed bandits in large numbers invaded Zodi village, Zuru LGA of Kebbi State, and rustled an unspecified number of livestock.
“Upon receiving the report, the personnel of No. 36 PMF Squadron, Birnin Kebbi, deployed for Operation Restore Peace in the area, promptly responded with sporadic shooting, thereby repelling the assailants with a heavy exchange of gunfire.
“As a result, many bandits were neutralised while others fled into the forest with fatal gunshot wounds, carrying along the bodies of their deceased members.
“When a search was conducted in the forest, two motorcycles, ninety-six cows and forty-five sheep were recovered as exhibits.
“Consequently, the recovered livestock have been handed over to the village head of Zodi for safe return to the rightful owners, while the two recovered motorcycles were handed over to the Divisional Police Officer, Zuru, for further investigation with a view to identifying and arresting the owners.”

Abubakar added that the Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Bello M. Sani, had commended the gallant performance of the 36 PMF personnel and charged them to sustain the momentum.
