Authorities in the United Arab Emirates have discovered the bodies of a Russian national, identified as Roman Novak, and his wife, Anna, in a remote desert area, raising strong suspicion of a coordinated contract killing.
Reports indicate that the couple, both seated across from each other, were brutally stabbed to death, with investigators suggesting they were forced to witness each other’s final moments. Their remains were found roughly two weeks after the attack.
Earlier accounts from investigators further allege that the killers dismembered the bodies with axes before burying them in the desert in an apparent attempt to conceal the crime.
Security sources familiar with the case say the double homicide appears to be a planned contract hit, though details about the motive or the identities of the perpetrators remain unclear as the investigation intensifies.
Novak was reportedly involved in crypto-related fraud schemes, a factor authorities are examining closely in connection with the killing.
UAE security agencies have launched a full-scale investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding the deaths and identify those responsible.
