Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has confirmed that his government has maintained constant communication with Hamas amid ongoing efforts to secure peace in the Middle East.
Speaking on Saturday, Erdoğan revealed that Hamas had expressed readiness for peace and negotiations, describing the development as “a very valuable step.”
“We have been in contact with Hamas throughout this process, and we are still in touch. Hamas told us they are ready for peace and negotiations. In my view, this is a very valuable step,” Erdoğan said.
The Turkish leader also disclosed that U.S. President Donald Trump had requested Türkiye’s mediation in persuading Hamas to agree to peace talks.
