A herder, Abubakar Abubakar, has been killed following an armed attack on a Fulani settlement in Owara village, Lokoja Local Government Area of the state.
According to security expert, Zagazola Makama gathered that the incident occurred on Oct. 17, 2025, at about 8:00 p.m., when unidentified armed men invaded the Fulani bush camp, shooting sporadically.

When the situation calmed, they returned to discover that Abubakar, aged 33, had been shot dead, with multiple bullet wounds found on his body.
A police team led by the Divisional Crime Officer (DCO) was immediately dispatched to the scene, where photographs were taken, and the decomposing corpse released to the family for burial in line with Islamic rites.
Sources said preliminary investigation into the attack had commenced, and efforts were ongoing to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.
