The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially admitted that errors occurred during the conduct and processing of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), affecting scores and outcomes for some candidates nationwide.
In a press briefing held today at JAMB Headquarters in Bwari, Abuja, the boardβs Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, confirmed the development and assured Nigerians that investigations are ongoing to identify the scope and impact of the discrepancies.
βWe acknowledge that some technical errors, largely linked to data synchronization and CBT centre malpractices, have affected the integrity of certain results. A committee has been set up to conduct a thorough audit and provide recommendations,β Oloyede said.
This comes amid growing pressure from parents, candidates, and civil society groups who have reported inconsistencies in results, system failures during the examination, and unjust score reductions.
JAMB noted that affected candidates will have their results reviewed and, where necessary, corrected or revalidated.
The board emphasized that no new exams will be conducted but that transparency will be ensured in the review process.
βLet it be known that the board regrets the anxiety this situation has caused and assures the public of its commitment to fairness and accuracy,β the Registrar added.
