JUST IN: Police Invade Major Cities Ahead Of Planned 1 Million-man March (PHOTOS)

Officers of the Nigeria Police Force have flooded major cities across the country ahead of the planned one million-man march.

Recall that the national coordinator of the Take It Back Movement announced that members of his group would embark on a one-million march to demand the release of protesters arrested during the nationwide protest across Nigeria.

Sanyaolu Juwon in a statement said the one-million march scheduled for Saturday, August 10, will span across 36 states of the country and the Federal Capital Territory.

According to Juwon, the march would also serve as a climax to the initial 10-day mass action aimed at making demands from the government to alleviate the hardship faced by Nigerians.

However, in what appears to be a reaction to the one million-man march, officers of the force have been spotted on streets of major cities including, Lagos, Kano and Rivers States, Punch reports.

In Lagos, police officers were stationed around major bus stops, including Ojota, Ketu, Obalende, Berger, and other locations where it is believed the protest would take place.

Also, in the Federal Capital Territory, there is an increased presence of security operatives with roadblocks mounted in some areas, slowing down vehicular movement.

The same situation was observed in Kano and Rivers States with Police officers patrolling the ever-busy Ibrahim Taiwo Road to both the BUK new sites, the Federal Secretariat and the Pleasure Park along Aba Road in Port Harcourt ahead of the one-million-man march.
