“In continuation of the Niger State Police Command’s clearance operations in some identified kidnappers’ hideouts, on 12th September, 2025, at about 6:30 a.m., based on intelligence received, the Command’s Special Task Team (STT), FID-STS, with vigilante members, carried out a clearance operation within Kokolo Forest via Kawo-Auna village, Nasko, Magama LGA.
“During this operation, which took place in the early hours of the day, the team stormed the forest, encountered the hoodlums, and engaged them in a gun battle.

“In the process of combing the hideout, two AK-47 rifles with forty-nine rounds of live ammunition were recovered. Further investigation is ongoing to arrest the fleeing members of the gang,” Abiodun said.
He urged members of the public, especially residents of neighbouring villages, to inform security agents of anyone found with gunshot injuries.
