Palestinian officials have revealed that Saudi Arabia has informed them it will not normalize diplomatic relations with Israel as long as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and key far-right ministers—Bezalel Smotrich and Itamar Ben-Gvir—remain in power.
According to the officials, Riyadh maintains that any move toward normalization must include a clear, actionable roadmap for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
The position, reported by Israeli newspaper Haaretz, underscores Saudi Arabia’s insistence on a two-state solution as a non-negotiable condition for future engagement with Israel.
The development adds fresh pressure to ongoing regional diplomatic efforts, reinforcing Riyadh’s stance that meaningful progress on Palestinian statehood remains central to Middle East stability.
