Security forces have achieved a major breakthrough in the fight against violent crime in Edo State, arresting 70 suspects allegedly involved in kidnapping, rape, and other criminal activities across Okpella and its surrounding communities.LeadNaija News Report
According to reports, the joint security operation also led to the dismantling of several criminal enclaves used as hideouts by the suspects. The coordinated raid, which involved both military and police personnel, followed weeks of intelligence gathering and surveillance.
Authorities say the suspects are currently undergoing interrogation and will be charged to court once investigations are concluded.
Residents of Okpella have expressed relief, commending security agencies for restoring calm to the area, which has in recent months witnessed a surge in violent attacks and abductions along key routes.
