Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have sustained intense pressure on bandits operating in Sububu Forest, Sokoto State, following fierce gun battles around Indulumu and Ruduno villages.
During the clashes, several bandits were neutralised as troops overran their positions. Military sources confirmed the recovery of two AK-47 rifles, a loaded magazine containing 28 rounds of ammunition, and woodland camouflage uniforms from the fleeing criminals.

The troops also destroyed two motorcycles used by the bandits for mobility and attacks.
Buoyed by the success, the troops advanced deeper into the forest, where they uncovered and destroyed multiple terrorist camps and logistics structures, significantly degrading the operational capability of the criminal elements in the area.

In a major humanitarian breakthrough, the troops also rescued a 13-year-old girl, Halira Ibrahim, who had been kidnapped by the bandits during previous attacks.
The operation, carried out by Sector 2, Division 8, underscores the Nigerian military’s renewed resolve to deny bandits safe haven across the North-West and restore lasting peace to affected communities.+See more details

Security authorities reaffirmed that operations would be sustained until all criminal enclaves are dismantled, urging residents to continue supporting the military with timely intelligence.
