Troops have rescued seven kidnapped victims from the Yankamaye community in Tsanyawa Local Government Area of Kano State, following a swift security operation in the area.
LeadNaija News gathered that the victims were recovered during a coordinated pursuit launched shortly after the abduction. The bandits, who initially escaped with several residents, were forced to abandon seven of the captives as troops closed in on their movement routes.
However, Bakastine report that four victims are still missing, with security operatives confirming that the fleeing bandits are heading toward Kankia in neighbouring Katsina State.
Troops and other security agencies have since intensified search-and-rescue efforts across possible escape corridors, promising to sustain pressure until the remaining victims are safely recovered.
Residents of the affected community have expressed relief over the rescue but appealed for stronger security presence to prevent future attacks.
