Abducted Anglican priest, Venerable Edwin Achi, has reportedly died in captivity, SaharaReporters has learned. Achi and his wife, Sarah Achi, were kidnapped from their home in the Nissi community of Chikun Local Government Area, near the Kaduna Refinery, on October 28, 2025.

The abduction was first reported on October 29, after the bandits sent proof-of-life photographs to the family, demanding a ₦600 million ransom. The images showed the couple in distress, alongside other captives who appeared malnourished and chained.
