Amid rising security threats and growing public anxiety in Kano, the Kano State Government has approved major investments aimed at strengthening protection and improving crisis response across the state.
During the State Executive Council meeting held on Thursday, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf approved ₦2,761,562,500.00 for the procurement of security equipment to boost the operational capacity of security agencies.
In addition, the council sanctioned ₦1,004,342,689.86 for the establishment of an Emergency Operation Centre at the Government House, Kano.
According to government officials, the measures are part of a broader plan to fortify the state against recent threats and enhance real-time coordination among security formations.
The Emergency Operation Centre is expected to serve as a central hub for intelligence sharing, rapid response, and crisis management, while the new equipment will help agencies respond more effectively to security incidents.
