In a post shared on his Facebook page, Barau described the arrest of three principal suspects by the Kano State Police Command as soothing news and commended the police for their swift action.
He praised the command’s prompt response to the incident, saying the early breakthrough demonstrated the seriousness of the police.
According to a statement released by the police spokesperson, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the suspects arrested are Umar Auwalu, 23, of Sabuwar Gandu Quarters; Isyaku Yakubu, also known as “Chebe”, 40, of Sagagi Quarters; and Yakubu Abdulaziz, also called “Wawo”, 21, of Sabon Gida Sharada Quarters, all in Kano.
Barau said the arrests should mark only the beginning of the process.
He stressed that the police must conduct a full and careful investigation to ensure the suspects are properly prosecuted.
