Frenkie de Jong has given Barcelona fans reason for optimism as he confirmed that a contract renewal is likely, although not yet guaranteed.
Speaking to Voetbal Zone, the Dutch midfielder said:
“I think I’m going to renew my contract at Barça, but you can never say that with 100% certainty. If everything goes well, it will happen.”
De Jong, who has been a vital figure in Xavi’s midfield, added:
“I hope it happens. I’m happy at Barça.”
