Terrorism continues to ravage Kebbi State as insurgents from the Lakurawa group struck again, this time targeting a construction site in Gumki village, Arewa Local Government Area.

Just a week after their deadly attack on two police officers, the group claimed the lives of three telecom workers and one unidentified individual.

The victims, who were reportedly installing a surveillance mast for the Nigeria Immigration Service, met their untimely deaths when the terrorists ambushed the site.

While the police initially reported that the deceased were staff of Airtel, residents identified them as immigration personnel.

According to SP Nafiu Abubakar, the Police Public Relations Officer, four individuals were killed in the attack, including one local and three Airtel staff members.

Following the incident, the Commissioner of Police, CP Bello M. Sani, and the Comptroller of the Nigeria Immigration Service, CIS Muhammad Bashir Lawali, quickly mobilized teams to evacuate the bodies to Sir Yahaya Memorial Hospital in Birnin Kebbi.

In an urgent appeal to the locals, the Commissioner of Police urged residents to collaborate with security agencies by providing vital information to help curb the rising tide of violence in the area.
