Barcelona came from behind to beat Valencia 2-1 at the Mestalla on the opening day in LaLiga, thanks to a double from Lewandowski.
The home side took the lead just before the break after an excellent Duro header, which was initially ruled out for offside, but the replays showed he was onside and the decision was overturned.
However, their lead didn’t last long as Lewandowski poked home the equaliser just minutes later in stoppage time.
Barca then came out firing in the second period, with Raphinha drawing a foul from Mosquera in the penalty area and Lewandowski made no mistakes from the spot to fire his side ahead. Valencia struggled to come back from that.
They didn’t test Ter Stegen in the second half and Barca could’ve scored a few more, with Yamal and Casado also going close.
This victory gives Flick his first three points in charge of Barcelona, ahead of next weeks home game against Athletic Club. Meanwhile Valencia will travel to Celta Vigo looking for their first points of the new season.
After the completion of the match, Poland and Barcelona’s attacker, Robert Lewandowski was named the man of the match after his outstanding performance against Valencia.
