Hours after Tuesday, November 11, the altercation between the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike and a Navy Lieutenant, AM Yerima over a piece of land in the Gaduwa area of Abua, the Defence Headquarters has shared a cryptic photo image.

The image was shared by the DHQ on its official social media pages in the late hours of Tuesday, November 11.

The image, a photo of a gallant soldier with hands crossed in front, which connotes defensiveness, was captioned, “It is an honour to serve in the Nigerian Military.”

All written in caps, the caption continued, “Unshaken, Unbent, Unbroken.”

The post by the DHQ has also gotten thousands of likes and comments, with several Nigerians commending the Naval officer for standing his ground, while others condemned his action, citing disrespect to the minister.

Recall that Wike had a heated altercation with Yerima following the latter’s efforts to prevent the minister from gaining access to the property in dispute.

During the incident, the minister had claimed that the land purportedly owned by a former Chief of Naval Staff could not be developed due to issues surrounding its use.

However, defending his position on the property, Yerima, who led a team of other military officers, said he had been ordered to protect the land and prevent invasion by police officers – a repeated occurrence in the past – by his boss.

Also, the military officers present at the scene of the incident went into a mild fisticuffs with police officers attached to the minister.

In what appears to be a response to DHQ’s message, Ben Hundeyin, the Force Public Relations Officer shared a similar GIF post on X.
