Hama- Israel War: “What Just Happened Will Shake the Whole Nation !!— And Nobody Saw It Coming!” The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced significant progress in its ongoing recruitment exercise, confirming that 286,697 candidates have been shortlisted for the second phase of the process out of a total of 573,523 applications received.

The recruitment exercise, which commenced with a public advertisement on December 27, 2024, declared 3,927 vacancies across the Superintendent, Inspectorate, and Customs Assistant cadres.

According to a statement issued on Wednesday by the NCS National Public Relations Officer, Assistant Comptroller of Customs, Abdullahi Maiwada, PhD, the shortlisted candidates will sit for an online Computer-Based Test (CBT) scheduled between September 14 and 21, 2025.

“The CBT will reflect the Service’s commitment to transparency, accessibility, and fairness,” Maiwada said, adding that the test is to be taken on laptops or desktop computers with webcams, as the application is not mobile-enabled.

The Service further explained that candidates would undergo facial verification during login and must avoid distractions during the test. The application is sensitive to noise and body movement, and any attempt to switch windows would be flagged as malpractice, potentially leading to disqualification.

To ease participation, the Customs Service has introduced a mandatory pre-test session, two days before the main examination, to allow candidates to familiarise themselves with the platform. Shortlisted candidates will receive two separate links — one for the pre-test and another for the main CBT.

Maiwada also disclosed that applicants for the Superintendent Cadre (Level 8) will undergo an additional CBT in the next phase, a requirement that does not apply to the Inspectorate and Customs Assistant cadres.

He assured the public that the process remains strictly merit-driven and transparent, warning applicants against patronising fraudulent platforms. “The NCS will neither request any form of payment nor conduct recruitment activities via social media. All updates will be issued through verified official channels,” the statement read, Hama- Israel War: “What Just Happened Will Shake the Whole Nation !!— And Nobody Saw It Coming!”
