Man Landed In Court For Touching Woman Without Consent In Ekiti

The Ekiti State Police Command has arraigned 27-year-old Oloyede Oluwaseyi before a Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti for allegedly touching a woman, identified as Oluwabusayo, without her consent.

The prosecutor, ASP Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that on or about February 1, 2026, in Ikere-Ekiti, the defendant indecently touched the victim without her permission.

ASP Oriyomi stated that the offence is contrary to and punishable under Section 269(1) of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.

Counsel to the defendant, Barrister Joy Egunson, urged the court to admit her client to bail, providing assurances that he would not jump bail.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Abayomi Adeosun, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.

The case was adjourned until March 10, for hearing.
