Middle Age Man Allegedly Stabs Cousin To Death, Injures Two In Adamawa

The Police Command in Adamawa State has launched a manhunt for a suspect accused of killing his cousin and injuring two others during a violent altercation in Tingno District of Lamurde Local Government Area.

Sources said the incident occurred at about 6:00 p.m. on Feb. 17 when a misunderstanding reportedly broke out between Begam Damdam and his cousin, Kawarijo Thomas, both residents of Garin Maitunku community.

According to the sources, Damdam allegedly stabbed Thomas in the chest, resulting in his death, and also stabbed two other persons, identified as Thomas Demdem and Robert Yohanna, on their hands.

The police said officers from Tingno Division responded to a distress call received at about 7:00 p.m., visited the scene and evacuated the victims to General Hospital, Numan.

Thomas was confirmed dead and his remains deposited for autopsy, while the injured victims are receiving medical treatment.

The command said efforts were ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspect, adding that the Criminal Investigation Department had been directed to conduct a discreet investigation into the incident.
