Suspected militants affiliated with Jama’at Nasr al-Islam wal Muslimin (JNIM) launched a coordinated and deadly assault on the town of Pama in southern Burkina Faso on January 23, 2025.
Witness accounts and emerging images from the scene reveal the group’s use of overwhelming numbers, coordinated tactics, and heavy fire support to overrun local defenses.
