The Federal Ministry of Women Affairs in collaboration with a non Governmental Organisation has launched a Financial Literacy Program initiative tagged EmpowerHer.
The empowerment program aims at building the financial capacity of more than two hundred and fifty thousand women onboard the program through training in financial, digital and entrepreneurial skills.
Minister of Women Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman Ibrahim during the launch emphasized the federal government’s commitment to advance women’s economic growth to ensure women’s inclusive participation in National Development.
The Women’s Minister said with EmpowerHer initiative, the present Administration is laying the foundation for a financially literate and economically empowered generation of Nigerian Women who would transform families, communities and the Nation.
The founder of the NGO, Kathleen Erhimu described the program as a National movement to ensure that women from both the formal and informal sectors acquire the knowledge and confidence to grow wealth, grow businesses and shape their own destiny.
