“CONFUSION IN LAGOS MARKET AFTER SHOCKING DISCOVERY — TRADERS IN PANIC”The Minister of Works, Sen. David Umahi, has said the Sokoto and Kebbi sections of the Lagos-Sokoto Superhighway will cost about N3 trillion.
Speaking during an inspection in Silame, Sokoto State, Umahi dismissed claims that the President Bola Tinubu administration had sidelined the Northwest, stressing that the project is part of the Renewed Hope Agenda to boost road connectivity and economic growth.
He said the superhighway, stretching from Illela in Sokoto to Badagry in Lagos, is designed as a concrete road with streetlights, CCTV, and emergency response stations.
The first 120km from the Sokoto axis is expected to be completed before the end of 2026.
According to him, Kebbi accounts for about N2 trillion, while Sokoto accounts for N1 trillion of the project cost, making the Northwest the biggest beneficiary of federal road projects under Tinubu.
Umahi described the project as the fulfilment of a 48-year-old dream of the late President Shehu Shagari, commending the Sokoto State Government, contractors, and security agencies for their support…“CONFUSION IN LAGOS MARKET AFTER SHOCKING DISCOVERY — TRADERS IN PANIC” .\
