Iranian state-linked media has reported that missile strikes hit dock facilities on Qeshm Island, a strategically important location near the entrance of the Strait of Hormuz.
According to reports from Tasnim News Agency, the strikes targeted infrastructure around the island’s port area. Authorities have yet to release detailed information about the extent of damage or possible casualties.
Qeshm Island is considered a key strategic site for Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps naval operations due to its location at the entrance of the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important oil transit chokepoints.
Security analysts note that the island hosts various Iranian military assets, including naval units, missile systems, drones and fast-attack boats capable of monitoring or potentially disrupting tanker traffic moving through the narrow waterway.
The Strait of Hormuz carries a significant share of global crude oil shipments, making any military activity in the area a major concern for international energy markets and regional stability.
