Mohamed Salah Pens New Deal to Stay Beyond 2024-25 Season

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has committed his future to the club by signing a new contract that will keep him at Anfield beyond the end of the 2024-25 season, LeadNaija Sports Desk

The Egyptian international, who has been pivotal to Liverpool’s success over the last eight years, expressed his excitement after penning the deal, highlighting his belief in the team’s potential to secure more silverware.

“Of course I’m very excited. We have a great team now. Before also we had a great team. But I signed because I think we have a chance to win other trophies and enjoy my football,” Salah said shortly after the announcement.

Reflecting on his time at the club, Salah added: “It’s great, I had my best years here. I played eight years, hopefully it’s going to be 10. Enjoying my life here, enjoying my football. I had the best years in my career.”

The 31-year-old also had a heartfelt message for Liverpool fans, who have supported him since his arrival in 2017.

“I would like to say to [the fans], I am very, very happy to be here. I signed here because I believe we can win a lot of big trophies together. Keep supporting us and we’ll give it our best, and hopefully in the future we’re going to win more trophies,” he said.

Salah has won the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, FA Cup, and more during his time with the Reds, establishing himself as one of the greatest players in the club’s history.
