The anti-kidnapping unit of the Nasarawa State Police Command, has, in a coordinated operation, arrested three suspected car thieves and recovered a stolen truck head.
According to the Command, officers acted on “credible intelligence” received in the early hours of Thursday, December 4, 2025. The information led to the swift interception of the suspects later that night.
Police spokesperson SP Ramhan Nansel confirmed the development in a statement, noting that detectives moved quickly after learning of the theft.
“At about 2100hrs the same day, three suspects were arrested in connection with the offence. The stolen vehicle was successfully recovered, and the suspects have been taken into custody,” he stated.
According to Nansel, preliminary investigations revealed that the truck head was stolen from Awka, Anambra State, and driven to Lafia, where the suspects allegedly planned to sell it to unsuspecting buyers before being arrested.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, praised the operatives for their swift response and professionalism.
The police boss urged the rightful owner of the vehicle to visit the Command Headquarters on Shendam Road, Lafia, with proof of ownership to reclaim the truck.
Mohammed also reiterated the Command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property, while thanking residents for their continuous cooperation with the Police.
