The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has announced the official opening of its student loan application portal for the 2025/2026 academic session, which will run from Thursday, October 23, 2025, to Saturday, January 31, 2026.
In a statement released on Monday, NELFUND expressed appreciation to tertiary institutions across the country for their cooperation since the launch of the student loan initiative, and called for further collaboration to ensure a smooth, transparent, and inclusive process for all eligible students.
The agency urged all participating tertiary institutions to update and upload verified records of both returning and newly admitted students on the NELFUND Student Verification Portal, emphasizing that this verification step is a mandatory requirement for students to successfully apply and access the loan.
According to NELFUND, the timely update of institutional data will enable a seamless rollout of the program and ensure that students from all approved institutions benefit without administrative delays.
