Four Moroccan truck drivers have been reported missing along the Dori-Terra axis, a dangerous stretch of road linking Burkina Faso and Niger, known for its frequent activity by the Islamic State in the Greater Sahara (EIGS).
The drivers disappeared early Sunday morning while traveling through the volatile area, raising fears of a possible abduction. Security sources indicate that the region has become a stronghold for the EIGS, which is notorious for targeting foreign nationals and commercial vehicles.
This incident marks the fourth abduction in the Sahel region within a week and the third in Niger. Recent high-profile kidnappings include the former Director General of Niger’s Office of Food Products (OPVN), Alhassane Agalass, in Torodi, and an Austrian national, Mrs. Eva Grezmatcher, in Agadez. Both incidents have heightened security concerns across the region.Tap Here To Read Full Details
