President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will embark on his third visit to Brazil in less than a year from August 24–25, 2025, at the invitation of Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. Far from coincidence, the visits reflect a deliberate strategy to anchor Nigeria’s economic and diplomatic engagement within the Global South.
The two-day State Visit will feature high-level bilateral meetings, the Nigeria–Brazil Business Forum, and the signing of agreements and MoUs spanning agriculture, energy, aviation, technology, renewable energy, and cultural exchange.
From Diplomacy to Deals
The arc of Tinubu’s diplomacy began in November 2024, when he attended the G20 Leaders’ Summit in Rio de Janeiro, where he advocated for reforms in global governance to ensure fairer representation for developing countries.
