Nigerian Army Opens Applications for DSSC Course 29, 2026 – See How To Apply

The Nigerian Army has opened applications for its Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Course 29 for the year 2026, inviting qualified Nigerians to apply for commission as officers in selected professional cadres.

According to information released by the Army, the DSSC programme is designed to recruit professionals with relevant academic and technical expertise to strengthen the operational and administrative capacity of the force.

Available corps under the 2026 DSSC intake include the Nigerian Army Engineers, Nigerian Army Signals, Nigerian Army Medical Corps, Nigerian Army Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, and the Nigerian Army Education Corps.

Applicants are required to possess a Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in relevant disciplines, with a minimum of Second Class Upper Division or Upper Credit. Candidates must also have completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme.

The Army stated that only Nigerian citizens aged between 25 and 32 years are eligible to apply. In addition, applicants must meet the stipulated physical requirements, including a minimum height of 1.68 metres for males and 1.65 metres for females.

The application window opens on January 7 and closes on February 4, 2026. Interested candidates are advised to submit their applications online through the official recruitment portal.Apply Here
