A young Nigerian, Sunusi Danjuma Ali, has been praised for his rare display of honesty after discovering cryptocurrency worth over ₦200 million mistakenly credited to his Bitunix account.

According to an X user @BashirAhmaad who shared the story, Ali noticed a sudden balance of $135,000 (about ₦200 million) in his Bitunix wallet. Despite having worked with the crypto platform, he immediately suspected it was a system glitch.

He wrote: “It is always good to be good. This brother, Sunusi Danjuma Ali, discovered a huge balance in his cryptocurrency Bitunix account — over $135,000 (more than ₦200 million). He explained that even though he has worked hard for Bitunix, he immediately realized it must have been a system error (a glitch).”

” Instead of attempting to withdraw the funds, he chose the path of honesty and quickly contacted the Bitunix database team in Africa as well as their official X (Twitter) account. They confirmed it was indeed a glitch and he asked them to rectify it. Well done! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾”

Rather than withdrawing the money, Ali promptly reached out to the Bitunix database team in Africa and also contacted the company’s official X account. The platform later confirmed the transaction was an error and thanked him for his integrity.

The act has since gone viral on social media, with many Nigerians commending Ali for choosing honesty over personal gain.
