NNL: Gombe United coach, Nkiyu tasks players to improve on goal-scoring

Gombe United head coach, Bala Nkiyu says his team will need to improve on goal scoring despite the win over Sokoto United.

The Savannah Scorpions defeated Sokoto United 2-0 in their season opener last weekend.

Nkiyu believes the team will build on the winning momentum in the next game.

“We will continue to work hard, correcting our lapses,” Nkiyu told Gombe United media.

“It wasn’t a bad game because we created goal-scoring chances, but we were not clinical enough to convert them. We will work on that.

“I am Proud of the team’s display. It’s a very young and highly amenable team and I believe they will do better in the next game considering that this is the first game of the season.”

Gombe United will take on Zamfara United in their next league game this on Saturday, December 21.
