Follow the press release of the sultan of Sokoto Sarkin Musulumi, His Eminence, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, reacting to the conciliation of the Sharia Law in the Southwest which was first rejected in Ekiti State.
In his statement, sultan express worry said, he “is particularly disturbed about the high spate of intolerance and disregard for the rights of Muslims, especially in the southern part of the country.” This statement has drawn many reactions
Reno Omokri through his X page urged Nigerians that they should take cautions in reacting to the said issues without being disrespectful.
Reno acknowledges that Sultan has been consistently apolitical and regularly demonstrates fidelity to the stability of Nigeria.
Reno Wrote:
“The Sultan of Sokoto and Sarkin Musulumi, His Eminence, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, is not just a traditional ruler, he is also a religious leader, who has been more responsible than anybody alive in Nigeria today, for helping to maintain peaceful religious coexistence, and ethnic harmony in our nation.
“He has been consistently apolitical and regularly demonstrates fidelity to the stability of Nigeria.
“Calmly reflect on what I just wrote. When have you ever seen His Eminence castigate other faiths or instigate Muslims against their neighbours? He does not do it. He has never done it. He is well-reputed in both Christian and Muslim circles for being an instrument for Nigeria’s peace, progress and prosperity.
“Therefore, no matter your feelings and your opinions on this Sharia matter in the Southwest, please exercise the highest level of honour and dignity to his person.
“There are two things that Omo-Ti-Olu Iwa-Bi value highly: respect for age and position. His Eminence has both.
“As an Omoluabi, you are not an alaileko who can insult anybody and lacks the diction and emotional intelligence to express yourself without getting into the gutter. Differentiate yourself from those low-cultured individuals by showing your level of cultural sophistication in the manner you address elderly people who happen to be in authority.
“Please utilise the ethos of Iwa, and even if you must disagree, do so without being disagreeable and disrespectful of an institution that has helped stabilise Nigeria in peacetime and war.Tap Here To Read Full Details
“May God bless Sultan Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, and may God bless Nigeria.
