Northern Groups Praises Military for Crushing Terrorists, Calls for Sustained Efforts

The Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) has commended the Nigerian security forces for their recent achievements in the ongoing battle against terrorists and bandits, which have offered significant relief to numerous communities in the northern part of the country.

The statement signed by National Coordinator of CNG, Comrade Jamilu Aliyu Charanchi, on Sunday,

noted that through the sustained military operation Fansan Yamma, security forces have neutralized notorious terrorist elements within the Alawa Forest in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State in the North Central.

“Similarly, in the Northwest, troops eliminated key bandits, including fighters loyal to the infamous Bello Turji, as well as his second-in-command and seven key commanders. In the Northeast, commendable efforts led to the elimination of Abu Iklima, a Boko Haram commander in Gaizuwa, Bama Local Government Area of Borno State. These coordinated actions have dealt a decisive blow to the operational capabilities of these hardened but now demoralised criminal elements,” it said.

CNG also praised the courage and sacrifices of the troops, who continue to put their lives on the line for the safety of Nigerians. “Their bravery and professionalism in confronting these criminals, even in the most perilous conditions, deserve our utmost respect and gratitude.”

The group called for the continuation of the military’s decisive action against terrorism and banditry.

“It is imperative that the operations are extending to the hideouts of these criminals, weakening and decimating them and preventing their resurgence and attacking capabilities and possibilities.

“We urge the military and other security agencies to sustain and intensify their offensive operations as they demonstrated their unmatched and patriotic strength by taking the fight directly to the strongholds of these criminals and ensure that they are completely dismantled and unable to regroup, ” the coalition said.

CNG commended the nation’s Service Chiefs and sister agencies as well as the Minister of Defence for their leadership to the frontline troops and availing them with the necessary resources to prosecute the operations gallantly.

While applauding the country’s leadership in ensuring security, the CNG urged them to continue supporting the military efforts for a more significant and decisive victory over the enemies of Nigeria.

“We call for stronger collaboration between the federal and state governments and improved cooperation among security agencies to optimize resources, enhance intelligence-sharing, and ensure a comprehensive approach to eradicating terrorism and banditry.”

The group also appealed to Nigerians to provide timely, reliable intelligence to assist in ongoing and future operations.

“The fight against criminality is a collective responsibility, and actionable intelligence from citizens can play a crucial role in neutralizing these dangerous elements,” CNG emphasized.

Lastly, the group called on Nigerians to intensify prayers for divine intervention in support of the troops’ efforts. “With God’s guidance and the dedication of our security forces, we believe Nigeria will overcome its security challenges and emerge stronger and more prosperous,” the statement concluded.N..>>Don’t Miss Out!
